GRADUATING CLASS OF 2025
May 28th, 2024
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students of the Class of 2025,
And just like that…..you are about to enter your senior year of high school!!
Mr. Ahmed and I (Ms. Olfano) will be your Senior Grade Team leaders and will be organizing all senior trips, student contracts and trip consent forms. We will be contacting you frequently via email, so be sure that you continue to check your school email throughout the summer and all through senior year. I hope everyone has a nice and relaxing summer and best wishes to you in your upcoming senior year!
I’d like to take this opportunity to explain the senior dues package – what’s included and what’s not. Some items are optional, but the senior dues are mandatory. Please read this letter carefully.
Payments for the senior dues and all senior activities should be made by check, or money order payable to HS for CTEA. In the memo area, please write your child’s first and last name. Payment plans can be worked out, but the parent must email Ms. Cetra to finalize the payment plan. Ms. Cetra can be reached at ncetra@schools.nyc.gov.
We will continuously update senior news, deadlines, events and notifications on the school website and via email. All parents should ensure that we have access to an email address that is checked regularly. This should be your first stop whenever you are looking for answers to anything senior related. Parents should expect to receive emails with this information, and students will receive emails through their school email account. Students, please get in the habit of checking your school emails daily.
Parent Contact Information
Please fill out this form, or scan the QR code to enroll your email address (you need to be logged in to your child's school account).
Below you will find a detailed list of what is included in the senior dues package. You will also see items that are optional, and must be purchased separately. The items included in the senior dues have been discounted as much as possible, since we have been given a package deal. Every student is required to purchase the senior package. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this, please email me.
Senior Dues Package - $250 will include:
1. Cap & Gown, Stole and a Diploma case ($50)
2. Senior Hoodie & T-Shirt ($45)
3. Yearbook ($40)
4. Senior Cruise - May 1, 2025 ($45)
5. Senior Breakfast ($10) 6. Graduation ($60)
The first payment of $125 will be due by Friday, September 27, 2024, but you can send in your payments any time before then. You can also send in a full payment of $250, if that works better for you. The final payment will be due by Friday, January 17, 2025. If you need more time to make your payments, please let me know. Students will not be able to purchase a ticket for any of the senior trips or senior prom unless they have been making senior dues payments. Payments can be made at any time; you do not have to wait until the deadlines. Students should see Ms. Cetra in room 118 to make their payments.
Please note that each graduate will receive 6 tickets for graduation for their family/guests. Graduates should not be included in these 6 tickets, as they do not need a ticket.
Optional items NOT included in package:
● Various trips throughout the year
● Senior Portraits (prices vary)
● Senior Prom
Senior Cap & Gown Measurements
Senior measurements must be submitted by students only - using this link, or scanning the QR code. This information must be submitted by students, using their school email account. These measurements will be used to place orders for cap/gown as well as senior apparel. Measurements must be submitted no later than 9/27/25.
Senior Portraits due no later than October 31st. If you do not take a portrait, you will not be included in the senior portrait section of the yearbook. Please note, other schools use this photographer, so check back regularly on the link to find an appointment time.
Below is a link that you can use to schedule your senior portraits. You will need to travel to the studio to take the photo. There are multiple packages available for purchase, but the minimum to sit is $15. This will allow you to take a photo that will be featured in the yearbook, but only includes the yearbook pose and will not be put toward the purchase of any photos. If you pay the $30 fee at the time of your sitting, you get multiple poses, and the $30 goes toward whichever package, digital or physical, that you choose to purchase. Students should make a selection for their yearbook pose.
